What I REALLY think about Influencers

The stigma around “influencers”

is that pretty Instagram girls make a living off of sponsorships and free products, promoting brands and foods they might not even believe in- just because they are blessed with the life they have earned. Don’t get me wrong, an influencer in our age is more than just posting eye catching content that sells almost anything, it is about developing trust and a brand that reflects who you are. Everyone wants to be an influencer.

Disregard the money and unreal amount of PR package unboxing- what is really left over? Sure, everyone has their own definition of success and financial stability, but what about wellness and mental health?

I try to stay as genuine as I can on my socials, revealing the raw truth about what makes me who I am today. Sometimes authenticity does not get you far but I believe potential is recognized and rewarded in the long run. Everyone works hard to be where they are now. But where do you picture yourself to be in the future?

How do you see yourself as an influencer to not just your friends and family, but to yourself? Put aside the money for a moment and consider your well-being. Authenticity and a goal driven mindset takes you further than you could have ever imagined.

Evil and An Omnipotent God: How to Become Part of His Elected Few





To believe there is an existence of a great, all knowing, and powerful God provides us with the faith that evil is surmountable.

Yet if the reality of such an absolute being is present throughout our life, we must consider the presence of evils in our life, and why God has allowed them to remain.

Why do unexpected deaths occur? Why are injustices present within our government? Why does God allow such evils?

With these common tragedies and personal struggles, it is likely to assume that evil exists, despite the presence and power of an omnipotent God. Within each individual’s journey, hardships that often become origins of self uncertainty and suspicion of faith, coincide with the belief that an almighty and divine being carries the power of eliminating evils present in the world.

To a certain extent, some may believe that these horrors can be a sign of destroying or removing evils. This encourages the idea that God chooses to allow various evils for justified reasons. God’s divinity and goodness can create possibilities of defeating selected evils, on a global scale, but is unable to defeat the evils within one’s personal life. Why?

I believe that God allows certain evils to be present in each person’s life to build strength in faith and feel a deeper connection to Him. Though we cannot control the amount of evils that we run into in life, it is a glorified idea that there is an elected few in which God gives a good life, where sufferings are tolerable and endurable. This “chosen” life is not HIS choice, but ours. Those who CHOOSE to be faithful to His word. It is all about your mindset. This doesn’t apply to solely religion, but in every aspect of your life, you have the power to make your decisions. To fight off the evils present in your life, with either God’s guidance or your personal strength and spirituality.

It may seem unreasonable for God to present evils in a person’s life as they search for their meaning, but I believe His true purpose is to build their relationship with Him. Though it seems to be illogical for both a wholly God and evil to exist, a test of faith and arising intimacy with God is the ultimate purpose.

Considering the perpetual society we live in, we tend to neglect the present moment and instead constantly strive for the ideal future. Admittedly, this realization only came to mind recently when I experienced loss in life- a true test of purpose and meaning. I had previously lived my life constantly working and going to class, saving up and striving towards a glorified future. This future consisted of a specified money goal, a change in career and location, and pure happiness. With only the future and a seemingly unattainable bliss in mind, I paid no attention to my current mental well being or the state of happiness I was in. Emily Esfahani Smith’s lecture, “There’s More to Life Than Being Happy” truly hit home as I could relate to the bold pillars of a meaningful life.

4 PILLARS OF MEANING

1. BELONGING – develop relationships

2. PURPOSE – focus on the moments leading to your goals

3. TRANSCENDENCE – What moments bring you existential happiness

4. STORYTELLING – Redefine your story

“Happiness comes and goes… Having meaning gives you something to hold on to.”

There is more to life than being happy. Smith discussed the 4 major pillars of a meaningful life to be: belonging, purpose, transcendence, and storytelling.

With this structure in mind, I became aware of the imbalance of these 4 factors and prioritized my efforts on having a sole purpose in life, which was to earn money and a degree. Money and a degree were the gateway to happiness, and thus a meaningful life. Truthfully, this thought still lingers, but it would be an unrealistic expectation to digest the grandness of the meaning of life at once. I believe Smith’s 4 pillars provides an ethical resolution to defining the meaning of life, yet it lacks the difficulty of finding a balance between each.

As I noted before, I prioritized having a purpose compared to building valuable relationships or redefining my important experiences to change the direction of my life. Part of this incessant drive towards a better future led me to forget the present moment and life that was passing in front of me. I had lost chances and time in my life to find happiness with the situation I was in. After experiencing loss, I noticed that life is shorter than expected and the time we have is valuable. Despite the feeling of unfulfillment in my life now, I should continue to cherish the other aspects such as developing relationships or shaping a new perspective on life. Valuing the time in the present moment and changing the way you look at your current situation, whether it is bad or good, is how to live a meaningful life.

I NEED A BREAK! 3 Tips to Recharging and Resting Your Mind

Hope you are all enjoying your 3 day weekend before it’s back to work! I’ve had quite the relaxing weekend spent at home, recharging for the upcoming week. This past week involved a huge focus on mental health and glorifying solitude. Often, when things go wrong I turn to work to keep myself occupied. I block out my feelings and keep moving forward. Don’t get me wrong, moving forward is essentially what is best, but not allowing myself to digest emotions and feelings in the present is not the way to go! Shaping your mind and allowing yourself the time to process feelings is a must, so here are my top 3 tips on how I rest my mind and recharge.

1. DISCONNECT YOURSELF FROM SOCIAL MEDIA

Honestly, I love Instagram. 100%. Hands down, it is my favorite and most frequently used. I’m obsessed. Often I find myself scrolling over the same posts and stories I’ve already seen! Terrible, I know. Soo…. to combat this insane obsession, I picked up a strategy from the amazing photographer and boss queen Jessica Whitaker (https://www.instagram.com/jessicawhitaker) and delete all my social media apps before I go to bed and reinstall them a few hours into the day. Granted, I don’t do this every single day, but I do try my best. Another way is to simply put your phone down when you’re out with loved ones! Be present!

2. UNWIND WITH MUSIC & CLEANING

Okay, this one sounds a bit strange, I know. Who wants to clean?! Me. LOL! I’m a huge supporter of a clean space and working environment. I believe that an organized work space is just a visual motivator for you to continuously maintain things as they are. Whether you work from home or in an office- a less cluttered work space really reflects through your work and attitude. The music part is a bonus… throw on your favorite jams and get to cleaning!

3. HAVE YOUR ALONE TIME

We live in a society where everyone is connected 24/7 through Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook- all of it! When I’m lonely I tend to completely immerse myself in all of these platforms… because the beauty of the internet is that you are truly never alone! Although I am grateful to be surrounded by friends and family through social media, it’s necessary to have time alone just to give your mind a rest. Use this time to get work done, watch your favorite show, online shop… whatever makes you happy!

I’ve been incredibly MIA from my blog lately. Truthfully, struggling on the direction and development of my brand but I’m gradually getting there! Impatience, Lacking Motivation, Finding Inspiration Again





Hello everyone! I’m taking it back to the old days when I used to write journal type posts about absolutely anything and everything. Going into 2018, I imagined to take this blog further than I had planned, with great expectations that consumed me in the end. It has barely been a month into the new year, and I feel like I am failing myself already. I have admittedly lost motivation and have become so impatient with personal growth and self care.

The impatience with the growth of my blog and photography has also been bothering me, holding me back from even posting content. The last thing I would want to do is spam you with irrelevant posts just to keep up with a constant schedule. Truthfully, I just need to find inspiration again and really think about what direction I want to use this platform in… What niche, target audience, so on. All I know is, I love blogging and sharing everything from my favorites to confessions with you.

We are all growing and go through these schlumps every now and then. Please stick it out with me! If you have any tips on how to dig myself out of this schlump, send them my way.

Feeling Overwhelmed in Social Settings: How to Deal with Anxiety and Stress

I can openly admit that I am the most tense, awkward, and quiet person when it comes to large social situations. It’s something I try to work on, however it truly haunts the introvert inside of me when I look back at how horribly I handled the situations. Whether its meeting new people, or having small talks in a casual social scene, I tend to close up and become easily anxious and overwhelmed. Like I said, I am slowly working on it! Here are some tips I’ve put together that keep me sane.


1. IT’S NOT A BIG DEAL.

For some odd reason, when I meet friends of friends, the anxiety builds up inside me and I want to make a good impression so badly that it freaks me out! No one is going assume you’re nervous or anxious to begin with! Enter with a positive outlook and set it off on a good note. Sometimes we expand things so large in our minds that it becomes this huge cloud that consumes your true intentions and emotions. Don’t go into it thinking it’s a chance to make an impression, view it as a possibility to meet new faces and learn from them. Relax, take a deep breath, and stop overthinking.

2. I REPEAT, STOP OVERTHINKING.  

This one is killer! I am the crazy of crazies. I overthink to the point where it stops me from doing things. I overthink to the point where I completely close up and become a mute. Sucks, I know! Haha. If you are just as nervous in social situations, you have to take the chance and be completely open to listening to others and vibing out. Stop worrying about what others might think or say about you, stop caring if your nervous habits are weird or noticeable. Instead, focus on the people you are with, be attentive and listen to what they have to say. Ask questions, be interested. Even if you’re not! Make this your goal, instead of worrying so heavily on what others are going to think about you.

3. FACE YOUR FEARS

So you’re there, in the pit of it. You are in this group of people, you’re listening to side conversations about their new jobs…moving house…that new Korean spot down the street. YOU ARE THERE TOO. You are a part of it! Join in. Even if you feel like you have absolutely no relation or common interests. As a huge introvert who gets easily overwhelmed, it’s a strange but recurring feeling to feel invisible, not present, or almost existential in large social settings. You have to hold on to that string that’s keeping you from floating up into your thoughts, and tug it back down into reality. You are a part of the conversation, you are a part of the setting. Include as much of yourself and personality as you can… and eventually you will face your fears.


I hope you enjoyed my quick tips on how to deal with feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and stressed in seemingly large social settings. This is something I struggle with working on and truly envy those who are social butterflies. All you butterflies out there…

CREATE WITH PASSION

Day 7 into 2018 and it has already been an incredible start. I left off 2017 with great friends, both old and new, as well as better work habits that I accumulated throughout the end of the year. I hardly follow any clear cut resolutions but instead set out small, attainable goals. One of the goals is to create with passion, rather than generate frequent posts with less effort. Quality over quantity.


HOW I PLAN TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL

is to focus on my interests and what inspires me. It’s easy to throw out content just to provide you with something to read, but this can become a horrible habit! Hopefully I’ll be able to create content that is interesting and helpful for times in need of fashion and wellness advice!

FINDING A NICHE

has been one of my biggest struggles with blogging, as I have many interests and feel limited if I structure everything into a single category. I am getting to know myself further every day and discovering what I love to share with you or what I don’t quite like. For now, my posts will be related to fashion, photography, wellness, and weekly favorites.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

or QUANTITY WITH QUALITY will be my goal for these upcoming months. Granted, I’m sure there will be days where I go MIA, but I am definitely going to try my best to push out more content that I genuinely love and am proud of.
